Shepton Beauchamp Parish Council
Shepton Beauchamp is a vibrant welcoming village of all ages and is lucky to have a wide range of groups and organisations within the community.
The Duke of York Public House offers real ales, home cooked food, bed and breakfast and is child friendly.
You will get a warm welcome from Amanda & Lynn in Shepton Stores, Kitchen & Deli which is open daily and supplies good honest food, locally sourced whenever possible as well as homemade cakes and savouries. The shop also hosts our visiting post office every Wednesday afternoon.
We have a mobile Fresh Fish supplier who calls into the village on a Friday lunchtime and we also have a Fish & Chip van which visits the village on a Wednesday evening.
The Church is the pillar of the community with always a warm welcome. The Village Hall is where most of the local clubs meet. We have a Primary School which is thriving and is located in the centre of the village. The school is lucky to have a lovely garden backing onto fields where children can enjoy being outside.
There are a number of fabulous other local businesses including: Middletons specialist Watch & Clock shop, For All Occasions florist, Bakery computing and Dennis China Works which is home to a superb pottery. There is the Hair & Beauty Lounge in the village and two Farm Shops selling locally grown produce.
The Parish Council and a number of other village organisations work together to keep the warm, fun & caring community together. We are proud to have an Events Team who organise a calendar of events throughout the year including Christmas Markets, Themed Evenings, Bonfire Night and Fun Runs together with the famous St Petrocs Fair! The village is lucky to have the Cowleaze Meadow a wonderful haven for wildlife for all to enjoy on one of the many walks. The recreation field has a wonderful children’s play area with enclosed court for tennis and other sports to be played. This is home to the sports pavilion and the football field.
There are also allotments for those wishing to make the most of the wonderful soil and grow their own. The village Facebook page has many members and is an excellent way to find out what is happening. The village is part of The Web, the local Parish Magazine, delivered through your door to keep everyone up to date with news and events. There are groups and clubs for all ages.
